How to Obtain and Maintain a Healthy Weight

tomolw@icloud.com

If you’re in your twenties or thirties, you probably remember the fat-free craze of the ‘80s through early ‘00s. As it turns out, eating fat wasn’t what was making people gain weight, but a lot of those fat-free foods were heavily processed with added sugars, corn syrup, and preservatives, which definitely did contribute to weight gain. With so many “experts” out there who really just want to make money selling their “miracle” diets and exercise plans, there’s a lot of confusion and misinformation about how to lose weight effectively and keep it off.

Fortunately, though, it’s actually a lot simpler than a lot of people make it out to be. If you follow a few simple tips, you’ll find that it’s much easier to obtain your ideal weight and then maintain it than you ever thought possible.

Drink Lots of Water

First of all, your body needs water to function properly. It helps you look and feel younger and more energetic. Plus, when you regularly drink enough water, you’ll stop retaining so much water and feeling so bloated. Plus, a lot of people mistake thirst for hunger on a regular basis, so you may find that you feel less inclined to grab a snack when you’re well hydrated, too.

Make Lasting Lifestyle Changes

If you’ve ever lost weight on a diet or strict exercise regimen, then gained it all back as soon as you started eating and living “normally” again, then you already know what we’re talking about here. If you want to maintain a healthy weight, you need to maintain it. That means, instead of going on a crash diet, you need to make small changes to your regular diet and exercise habits that you can live with for the long term. If you make healthy living a habit, you’ll have no trouble taking those pounds off and keeping them off.

Find a Workout That You Love

Finally, if you hate going to the gym, you’re eventually going to quit. If you don’t like going running, when a friend says, “Go run later – let’s go to lunch!” you’re going to go with her and put off your run. On the other hand, if you find a workout that you love, you’re going to look forward to doing it. You’ll find more excuses to exercise than to put off going to the gym. Eventually, you’ll be more active than you ever imagined yourself being…because you like it and you like what it does for your body.

And, finally, one more “secret” – get some athletic clothes that make you feel good about your body and yourself, like the clothes we sell at 2ToneFit. No one gets anywhere good with shame, so buy yourself some fun athleisure clothes that you look forward to putting on, and you’ll find reasons to go show them off at the gym or wherever you work out.
