Recent studies have shown that mobile technology is playing a huge part in helping people get fit and stay active on a daily basis. Reading about this phenomenon got us thinking about our favorite fitness, fashion, and lifestyle apps, and we thought we’d share them with you, too. After all, at 2ToneFit, we love all things fitness and fashion, and we live to help women reach their fitness goals.
MyFitnessPal lets you track not only calories but also your macronutrients, as well. You can see how balanced your diet is right now and whether or not you need to add more protein, cut down on carbs, or balance out your saturated and unsaturated fats. Plus, it has a cool built-in pedometer feature. So, if you have your phone on you, it will track your daily steps for you and calculate them into your daily caloric needs.
Nike+ Training Club
Nike+ was already a great fitness app, but now Nike’s taken it a step further with Nike+ Training Club. You can track your activity, follow along with over 100 exercises, and work with friends and personal trainers, all through the app!
From the popular site PopSugar.com comes the ShopStyle app. Not only can you browse around for great deals on your favorite brands of clothes and accessories, but you can also set a “sale alert” on the items you’ve been dying to buy but can’t quite justify the price. The app will send you an email when it finds sales and deals on those products.
Are you tired of the music you have saved on your phone? Do your Pandora and Spotify stations always leave something to be desired? Fit Radio is a music app dedicated to tunes that will help you get your groove on in the gym, on the road, or wherever you work out.
Now this one’s just a lot of fun! OPI lets you test nail polish colors on your own nails without actually painting them or paying for a manicure. If you’re like so many of us, you’ve no doubt splurged on polish that you thought would be pretty and would complement an outfit you had planned for a day or night…only to find out that it just looked all wrong with your skin tone and clothes. With this app, you never have to go through that again, and you can have fun experimenting with colors and shades you never would’ve tried otherwise.
There you go – five apps that we think no girl should ever have to live without. They’re fun, useful, and some of them will help you get in the best shape of your life!
